Footnotes:
-
The resurrection verifies
every claim of Jesus and the apostles.
-
John 5:22 says, “The Father
judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son.” This does not mean
that the Father will not participate in judgment, He will (1 Pet. 1:17;
2:23). The Father will judge through the Son.
-
We will be judged by the New
Testament. Those who lived before the coming of Christ will be judged by the
revelation given to them.
-
In Matthew 8:29, the demons
asked Jesus, “Have you come here to torment us before the time?” “Before the
time” is a reference to final judgment. Therefore, they should probably be
identified with the fallen angels in 2 Peter 2:4 and Jude 6.
-
Just how saints will
participate with Christ in judgment is unclear. Apparently the details were
already known by the saints in Corinth.
