10 Facts About Creation
Aaron Erhardt

  1. The universe was created by God (Gen. 1:1)

  2. God created the universe from nothing (Heb. 11:3) (1)

  3. God spoke the universe into existence (Ps. 33:6-9) (2)

  4. The universe was created mature (3)

  5. The days of creation were literal (4)

  6. Creation is a past event (5)

  7. Adam was created around 4004 B.C. (6)

  8. Mother Nature is rooted in paganism

  9. Evolution is a false theory (7)

  10. The universe will be destroyed (2 Pet. 3:10-12)

Footnotes:

  1. Creation ex nihilo (out of nothing) denies the pre-existence of matter.

  2. By the same word, God will speak the universe out of existence (2 Pet. 3:5-7).

  3. From the moment of their creation, trees bore fruit (Gen. 1:11-12), man and woman could procreate (Gen. 1:27-28), etc. Everything was created fully developed, with the appearance of age.

  4. The days of creation correspond to the days of Israelite labor (Ex. 20:9-11). Were the days of Israelite labor literal?

  5. The New Testament refers to creation as a completed event of the past (Acts 14:15; Col. 1:16; Heb. 1:2), thus it is not still-occurring through evolution.

  6. A careful analysis of the genealogies concluded that the date for Adam’s creation was 4004 B.C. Allowing for possible gaps, Adam’s creation would still be less than ten thousand years ago.

  7. Evolutionary theory: About 13.7 billion years ago a tiny singularity smaller than a proton exploded, resulting in inflation which led to the material universe. This theory cannot explain: (1) Where the tiny singularity came from, (2) how life came from non-life, or (3) how a tiny singularity exploding could produce such a massive effect.
